Before the web and still now, technology users often assume that new technology is good and that users retain their autonomy and sovereignty, as they use media to grow their human capabilities with mutual appreciation of fair trade and respect for human, civil, and consumer rights.

Many remain hopeful as OpenAI announced in early 2025 that it had, as a leading AI developer, sidestepped founding principles to align with military interests. OpenAi looks beyond General AI to Super AI as it profits from deploying AI to automat drones with potentially lethal powers.

We have no doubt:

• The world evolved from Web 1.0, through version 2.0, to Web 3.0 and beyond with increasing interactivity, ML, and Large Language Models (LLM), all commonly called Artificial Intelligence (AI). Engine X colleagues are now modeling applications for Web 7.0.

• Small Language Models (SML) and secure distributed systems as well as offline time, are gaining increasing importance in human life.

• Civilians can be sure that technologies that appear to emerge now are already in use in even more sophisticated forms for purposes of maintaining the global power of the military, surveillance, intelligence, and counter-intelligence operations, on battlefields around the world and mobile devices in your kid's lunchbox, your wrist, wallet or back pocket.​ ​​​

Lest we forget, meaning and values are made by people interacting with one another in the context of their world of distinct, different, and varying perspectives, human needs, and often some desire for a life better tomorrow than yesterday and the days gone by.
