Many remain hopeful as OpenAI announced in early 2025 that it had, as a leading AI developer, sidestepped its founding principles to align its work with military interests. Its estimated value increased to the benefit of big investors. They are thrilled that OpenAi looks beyond General AI to Super AI as it profits from automating drones with potentially lethal powers and deploys AI targeting systems that function without the human burden of compassion. It's all OK as long as we realize some will be lost to so-called Friendly Fire, just not the tech billionaires nor military allies or purveyors of novel preventive counter-measures and the public-private alliances of pandemic profiteers.
